List Price: $1,650,000

Property Details:

This Silver Lake property was built in 1989 by J. Frank Fitzgibbons AIA, the former President of the Architectural Foundation of Los Angeles and Modernist Architect to MOCA’S Design Council.

This 3-Story Modernist Home was constructed with a huge interior with high ceilings. The presence of windows, skylights and outside balconies allow this spacious house to become even more open to its surrounding. There are 3 large bedrooms suites, a den, a living room with a fireplace and a master bedroom suite. The lower bedroom suite has its own private patio with stairs that gives a private access to the street.

Technically, acquiring this property is like buying 2 houses in one. There is a private residence located at the rear of the actual property plus 3 enclosed garage. These entirely separate structures make it a legal triplex.

Echo Park Discount Store to be Transformed to Restaurants

Echo Park real estate owners have something to look forward to by 2014 as Gareth Kantner, owner of Sunset Junction-based restaurant Café Stella, plans to transform an old discount store and snack stand into a pair of new restaurants.

In an interview, Kantner said that the current building which houses E’Pack Family Clothing Store and the Sunset Snack stand will be the new site of two new eateries. Dinette, expected to open by February 2014, will serve sandwiches with Vietnamese, Cuba, and of course, American flavor. The other resto-bar, called Libre, is poised to serve grilled meats, vegetable dishes, salads and oven-baked pizzas.

Shepard Fairey Paints New Mural at Downtown Los Angeles

Echo Park’s very own street artist Shepard Fairey, whose notable works include “Andre the Giant has a Posse” and the “Barack Obama “Hope” Poster” painted a new mural on the brick walls along the Alley behind 118 Winston in Downtown Los Angeles.

His new work is his second mural in the Indian Alley, which got its name due to the presence of numerous Indian and Native American images painted all over the area.
