Located at 1714 W Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, the Time Travel Mart will take you on a journey to the past. As the store’s motto says, “Whenever you are, we’re already then.” In a similar fashion to popular websites like ThinkGeek and Firebox, the Time Travel Mart offers accessories, clothing, posters, and kitchen supplies. What you’ll also find there are nostalgic products and “supplies” for time travel, including the Portable Wormhole, the Meeting Yourself Doesn’t Have to be Weird Postcard, Fresh Dinosaur Eggs, and the Emergency Mummy Kit. The proceeds from these fun gift items and inspiring products go to 826.
There are other chapters around the country that are supported through similar shopping experiences, including the cities of San Francisco where The Pirate Supply Store and King Carl’s Emporium is located, Boston where The Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute is found, New York City where the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. sells superhero supplies, Detroit where the Liberty Street Robot Supply and Repair Shop and The Detroit Robot Factory do business, Chicago where The Wicker Park Secret Agent Supply Co. “secretly” distributes gadgets, and Washington, D.C where Tivoli’s Astounding Magic Supply Co. takes care of “magician’s” needs. In addition to the Echo Park location, there is another Time Travel Mart in Mar Vista.

The programs at the organization also inspire students’ creativity, provide opportunities to practice creative and professional writing, and practice building confidence in written and verbal communication. Additionally, the Time Travel Mart carries books and hosts events like visiting writers and reading series.
